To those of you who’ve already watched all of the Gilmore Girls Episodes + Revival, this may seem like a pointless post. But because we live in the world of binge-watching, and on-demand viewing with NO commercials… there are no timelines. So if you haven’t seen, or already have seen any or all of the Gilmore Girls episodes or revival you can STILL host a viewing party. Because any reason to have your friends over for junk food and binge watching is a good idea right?
And that’s what I did! I made signs, stickers, buttons and set up a buffet of all the Gilmore Girls approved food and snacks.
On the menu:
- Pizza
- Chinese Takeout
- Donuts
- French Fries
- Popcorn
- Gummi Bears
- M&Ms
- Cheetos
- Chips
- Sugar Cookies shaped like Luke’s Diner logo
- And of course coffee.
In preparation for the party, I handmade all the invitations and sent them out to my girlfriends, and made Team buttons so everyone can represent their choice for the favorite leading man in Rory’s life. I designed Luke’s Diner logo stickers to put on the paper coffee cups then I set up a coffee corner for people to make their own cup of Nespresso (Sorry, don’t have the real Luke around to make his awesome coffee). I printed up a drinking game that no one played because we are all adults and have to drive home later.
It seemed like everyone had a good time. It was great being able to talk to other people who knew the Gilmore Girls the way I did and were able to discuss after each episode! I would definitely want to hold more viewing parties. Especially since Lorelai doesn’t cook, so I don’t have to prepare some well thought out menu to stay “in theme”. Other foods that you could have at your party are, red vines, pop tarts, tater tots, mac and cheese, cheeseburgers, candy sushi…man those girls ate a lot. And if you really want to play the drinking game be sure to make some Founder’s Day punch. Or if you want to be fancy, host a “Friday night dinner” theme.
Thank you to my friends that helped with planning and joining me for the revival. It was fun to plan and design. I’ve even gotten requests for stickers and buttons from my out of state friends. What team are you on?
